I've played alto sax with the group since fall 2004. We had a great concert this spring with music by Frank Tichelli, who also appeared as guest conductor. Playing for the composer was an interesting experience: Mr. Tichelli new exactly what sounds he wanted when he wrote his music. All his music is available for download at manhattan beach music.
ucsb percussion ensemble
While I'm still very much an amateur percussionist, this group has been fun to play with. It's very low key but good for getting some experience (as well as a percussion room key). When I have some time (!) I want to actually do some practicing, particularly on snare and on drum set. Or on the bongos, like this curious character.
